A Taste of Home – How Adelitas Became My Go-To Spot

For many, food is more than just fuel—it’s a connection to memories, culture, and comfort. That’s exactly what Adelitas has been for one of our regulars, Carlos, a Mexican-born Vancouver resident who found a piece of home in our restaurant.

“When I first moved to Canada, I struggled to find real Mexican food. Everywhere I went, the flavors were adjusted to fit Canadian tastes, but something was missing. Then I found Adelitas, and from my first bite of tacos al pastor, I knew—this was the real deal.”

Carlos describes his first visit as a nostalgic experience. The freshly made tortillas, rich mole poblano, and the warm hospitality reminded him of family gatherings back in Mexico.

“It’s not just the food—it’s the atmosphere. The music, the warmth, the feeling of being welcome. It feels like home.”

Now, Carlos brings his family and friends to Adelitas whenever he misses the flavors of Mexico. Whether it’s a casual dinner or a special celebration, he knows he’ll always find authentic dishes, made with love and tradition.
